What is INASYSCON?
INASYSCON is short for The Indonesian Systemics Society Conference, an annual event on systemics held in joint corporation by The Indonesian Systemics Society [INASYS] and University of Brawijaya [UNIBRAW], Malang.
INASYSCON is divided into regions, with the current focus being on an international scale – thus the name INASYSCON International 2009. The purpose of INASYSCON is to become a sustainable platform of information and exchange of knowledge in systemics, and to promote INASYS, systemics, Indonesia, and all conference partners in the process.
What is INASYS?
INASYS is short for The Indonesian Systemics Society, a multi-disciplinary organization, focused on the study of systemics. It is based in Indonesia, with systemics as its core. The purpose of INASYS is to create platforms of information and exchange of knowledge between all disciplines within the scope of systemics.
INASYS membership is open to both Indonesian and foreign members. There are no membership fees, and all members receive discounts on INASYS-sponsored events, such as INASYSCON International 2009.
Where is Malang, Indonesia?
The setting for this conference is the city of Malang, Indonesia – the second largest city in the East Java province, and fourth in Indonesia. For thousands of years, Malang has been a natural haven for local and foreign visitors.
To this day, its 3.5 million residents with their myriad of educational institutions embody this hospitality and the city motto, “Malang Kucecwara”, meaning “God has destroyed the false and enforced the right”. It only seems befitting that a discourse of systemics should not be held elsewhere.
What is The University of Brawijaya?
The University of Brawijaya is a leading university in Indonesia, established in 1963 and located in Malang, Indonesia. It is ranked 10th in Indonesia and 2590th worldwide by Webometrics.
The university boasts of 30,000 students and 12 faculties, including its latest addition, The Faculty of Culture Studies [Fakultas Ilmu Budaya]. It is through this faculty that The University of Brawijaya is holding INASYSCON International 2009, in partnership with INASYS.
